Hiring is normally by the session – morning, afternoon or evening
We cannot accept responsibility for any activities or equipment of those hiring rooms. Hirers are therefore asked to ensure that their own Public Liability Insurance covers them against any claim made against them in respect of any activity they are responsible for, any equipment they bring onto the premises, or any damage caused to the premises.
Any equipment left in the building is at the owners' risk; the church is not responsible for it.
The room must be left in the same order as it was on arrival.
Unless otherwise agreed, an invoice will be sent after the event; payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date.
It is very helpful if definitive arrangements can be made at least 4 weeks in advance. This is essential in the case of series or block bookings.
Bookings are provisional until confirmed by the return of the signed booking form. We may ask you to give up provisional bookings if we receive a definitive booking from elsewhere.
If you cancel within the provisional booking period there is no charge. Once the dates are confirmed by you and by us a cancellation charge will be incurred as follows:-
10% of the agreed charge from 28 to 15 days before the booked date
20% of the agreed charge from 14 to 8 days before the booked date
50% of the agreed charge from 7 to 2 days before the booked date
100% of the agreed charge 1 day before or on the day of the booking
No smoking is permitted anywhere on church grounds. The pedestrianised zone on Northumberland Road has seats and bins where cigarette ends can be discarded.
Safeguarding - by making this booking you will either have your own Safeguarding policy or will adhere to St James's URC Safeguarding policy, which can be viewed on the About Us tab on this website.
